Reasons You’re Attracted to Toxic Women
Are you sick of going through the same cycle over and over? Will finding out the reason you’re attracted to toxic behaviors help you change?
They can sometimes be behaviors that you, yourself, have. It happens when you’re trying to compensate for something, especially emotions.
To understand why you gravitate towards women with red flags, you need to understand yourself first. Why do you end up with these types of women? Is it the thrill? Are you unaware? Or are you simply attracted to toxic behaviors?
Here are the possible explanations:
1. Toxic is seen as hot and passionate these days.
In today’s generation, toxic behaviors are romanticized. Popular music contains lyrics that encourage jealousy, possessiveness, and protectiveness. Instead of cringing away from these behaviors, we gravitate to them because they’re supposed to symbolize passionate loyalty.
You might not notice, but this could be the reason you keep falling for toxic women left and right. It may be because you find a jealous woman romantic.
2. You grew up in a toxic family.
Something we hate the most is being the carbon copy of our parents. Or at least become an even worse version of them.
Your unresolved pain may have played a role in your adult life. How you perceive emotions and give affection mirrors how you grew up. Maybe you watched how your parents acted around each other. Maybe, it’s the way they treated you.
You may be self-projecting without meaning to. You also could have grown accustomed to the toxic behaviors because it’s what you grew up with.
3. You like the thrill.
It can be exciting to be with a person who is your total opposite. Or maybe you’re looking for someone who is the same as you. And being with that person makes life more thrilling.
Toxic people are fun and unpredictable. They are good at making you feel high. Like you’re at the top of the world. This is why people are drawn to them.
4. You are easily manipulated.
One talent that these types of people are good at? Manipulating people.
However, you shouldn’t have to feel bad about being manipulated. Toxic people are good at their craft, and they know how to use your weakness against you. They are also good at crafting words and making you feel like it’s your idea.
They are attracted to people they can easily manipulate.
5. You can’t commit.
Maybe you’re already aware of why you’re attracted to toxic people. Toxic people can’t commit. Knowing this, it could be your reason why you go for them when looking for a partner. You know you don’t have to expect anything from them, so you actively seek them out.
Fix yourself first
No one has their life figured out. But if you want to fix your bad habits, then work on yourself first. Your attraction to toxic behaviors can be solved easily. If you have a type, then seek out someone that’s the exact opposite.
It might not work, but it’s a step in a different direction. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find the love of your life that way and finally be happy.
