Have you ever wondered whether a certain Filipino woman likes you or not? Sometimes it can be hard to tell, especially when they’re known for their warm personality and cheerful attitudes.
Some men might misunderstand and think “this Filipino woman must be flirting with me.” He becomes excited. “It must mean she likes me.”
But as it turns out, she was just being polite and acting how most Filipinos do when meeting new people. Then the man ends up embarrassed and wonders how he ended up misreading her intentions.
The thing is, if a Filipino woman really likes you — she shows it subtly. But the signs are there if you know what to look out for.
She asks you out
It’s a bold move for a Filipino woman to make the first move because normally, it’s the other way around. In traditional Filipino dating culture, it’s almost always the man who takes the first step.
But since we’re in the modern era where gender roles are less rigid, she might be bold enough to ask you out. If you’ve noticed that she doesn’t invite anyone else, then it’s a strong sign that she’s interested in you.
She might also call you often, asking about your well-being, or if you’ve eaten yet. The calls might be random or at a specific time, depending if she has other social obligations.
She can be herself around you
She laughs at your lame jokes. Her smiles feel more genuine. She calls you pet names. Her facial expressions are more open and relaxed — even when she doesn’t agree with what you said.
She wants to introduce you to her family
You know the relationship is getting serious when she starts talking about meeting her parents because family is everything in the Philippines. Getting approval from her parents is part of the Filipino dating culture.

If you happen to catch romantic interest from a Filipino woman, then she might try to win you over. She does this through several ways.
- She easily gets jealous. If she gets annoyed when you talk to other women, then it’s a sign she’s the jealous type. Some men find this attractive while others find it too stifling.
- She smiles and makes constant eye contact with you. Frequent smiles are a possible sign that she enjoys your company and can’t hold in her happiness.
- She checks out who you hang out with. She wants to know about the people you hang out with. Are they married? Single? How many girls are in the group? Do they already have boyfriends?
- She dotes on you. Many Filipino women are eager to please the people they like. Their love language is often depicted by acts of service. So if she starts cooking you meals, offers to help you do the chores, or runs errands for you — then that’s a sign she’s heavily interested in you.
If you’ve experienced any of these things, then chances are she’s really into you. But take note that every Filipino woman is cut from a different cloth. Make sure to gauge her reactions because some signs may not apply to her.
